Frequently asked questions
How does Skyros help with my home loan?
We check your eligibility with several banks, compare their rates and fees for you, list the documents each one needs and follow up until the loan is sanctioned and paid to the developer. You still choose the bank.
How do I check my home loan eligibility?
Use the calculator on this page: enter your monthly take-home pay, any EMIs you already pay, the interest rate and tenure. It shows roughly how much you can borrow. A bank confirms the final amount after checking your documents and credit report.
Can I get a home loan if I'm an NRI?
Yes. Most banks lend to NRIs and PIOs for homes in India. You'll need your passport and visa, overseas work contract or salary slips, and statements from your NRE/NRO account.
Is property insurance mandatory for a home loan?
Most banks ask for property insurance to protect the home against fire and natural disasters. Life cover for the borrower is optional, though banks often suggest it.
Can I add a co-applicant?
Yes. Adding an earning family member, such as your spouse or a parent, combines your incomes and usually raises the amount you can borrow. Co-owners can often claim tax benefits on the loan too.
Can I move my loan to another bank later?
Yes, this is called a balance transfer. If another bank offers a lower rate, you can move your remaining loan there. It's worth it when the rate difference is meaningful and many years are left on the loan.
